First, you need to understand what your body needs.

True health is not about deprivation or obsession or unattainable goals, it’s about balance and working with your body to create a lifestyle that you can actually stick with.

We integrate this approach when addressing skin conditions too.

Beautiful skin starts with a proper diet.

The health of our skin is a reflection of our diet and the choices we make. Meaning that in order to maintain a healthy, beautiful skin we need to include a variety of foods that contain a wide range of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, lean proteins and omega-3 fatty acids.

Nutritional status plays a very important role in the preservation of healthy skin.

Macronutrients like carbohydrates, proteins and lipids and micronutrients like vitamins and essential minerals work together to maintain the barrier functions of the skin in the face of daily challenges.

Nutrition affects skin appearance.

Changes in nutritional status that alter skin structure and function, can also directly affect skin appearance. Having a balanced nutrition will not only preserve skin health but a skin that functions properly has aesthetically pleasing properties, giving a healthful appearance and feel.

Choose foods high in vitamins & minerals.

Nutritional skin care starts with the choices we make. When choosing foods, we need to look for those that provide a range of vitamins (especially A, C and E), minerals, omega-3’s and healthy proteins and fats, foods that have plenty of antioxidant activity, good sources of vitamins and minerals and with plenty content of phytonutrients.

Eating with good nutrition in mind is essential to your overall health — and the health of your skin especially.

Beauty comes from the inside. The connection between nutrition and skin condition or rather the effect of nutrition on skin aging, has been an interesting research field not only for scientists but also a common field of interest for humans throughout the years, from ancient to present times.

Our skin is continuously exposed to internal and external influences that alters its condition and functioning, as a consequence, the skin undergoes alterations leading to photoaging, inflammation, immune disfunction, imbalanced epidermal homeostasis or other skin disorders.
